Our History
We are a Civil Engineering company based in Northeast England, working with the private and public sectors.
Lineside Civils was founded in 2022 by four friends who together bring over 100 years of civil engineering and railway experience. Mel Gressmann and Tony Lonsdale, who worked together successfully for 34 years, lead the company with a reputation for professionalism and expertise—Mel being one of the most respected site managers in the region. Gordon Chamberlain adds 30 years of specialist rail experience, while our Financial Director brings over 25 years of construction industry knowledge, ensuring every project is managed with precision and efficiency.
